“Floating,” a term used to describe the removal of sharp enamel points, is performed under standing sedation with the aid of motorized dental equipment (PowerfloatTM) and head rests. We routinely perform procedures such as wolf tooth extraction, and we have advanced training in the correction of common dental abnormalities such as malocclusions, incisor bite mal-alignments, wavemouth, periodontal disease and other oral diseases.
With our digital radiography unit, we can also perform dental radiographs on the farm to help diagnose and better treat our patients with complex dental disease. For our most complex cases we consult and work directly with an equine veterinary dental specialist.
